The moment
We got to Badwater Basin for sunrise after a hard rain. It is the lowest point in North America, and most of the time it is a dry, cracked salt flat. Water is not normally there that time of year.
That spring the rain left a thin layer of water across the salt. As the sun came up, the mountains turned pink and reflected almost perfectly in it.
It is one of those scenes you cannot plan for. The water was only there for a short time, and I feel lucky we got to see it.
