A Midnight Sun That Wouldn't Quit

Skógafoss, Iceland

The moment

This was supposed to be a quick stop on a 16 hour layover in Iceland. It was the season of the midnight sun, so we were running around trying to see as much as we could before our next flight.

We thought the sunset was over, and then it just kept going. The light turned gold over Skógafoss and lit up the lupines, and it never really got dark. It is one of the most beautiful sunset to midnight sun experiences I have ever had.

I don't think a sunset like that will happen again. Some moments you just know are one and done, and this was one of them.
